Hi TOADELCHAOZ

The average is (19cm + 20cm +22cm) /3 = 20.33333

Bruce's measurements are to two significant figures so presumably the answer will be to two significant figures.

The average to two significant figures is 20cm.

Check out the 'Significant Figures Calculator' at http://ostermiller.org/calc/significant_figures.html which is on the 'Jim's Useful Widgets' page of my website www.jimbakersonlinelearning.co.uk

Should Bruce's measurements be

cubiccentimetres and not centimetres?teknojimmy
