Bathroom Sealant, Teflon and Combustion

I am doing a project on the potential of 3D Printing of Drugs with the main focus on Lee Cronin's research. I was reading about how he uses bathroom sealants but wishes to replace those with Teflon for air-sensitive reactions, but I can't seem to wrap my head around how Teflon would be more helpful. Please help!

I think that is a very specialized problem that would require a good amount of research to be able to answer.  In my opinion (and I answer a good many questions on here), it far exceeds the scope of this site.
